The modern lorem ipsum text is a scrambled and altered version of passages from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of that work. A typesetter is believed to have rearranged the Latin text in the 1500s to create a sample book showcasing various fonts. By scrambling the words, the text became visually similar to real prose without being readable, which kept viewers focused on the fonts rather than the meaning.
